In the first section of this book, Recognition we are going to try on a new image of ourselves as a heart-ruled human. To make a big change, we often have to change our basic assumptions, so we will begin by changing the way we think about our bodies. We will then explore how to put our heart in a ruling position, what it takes physically and how the breath supports that.
In Reclamation we will see how our new heart-ruled body image helps us work specifically on opening up the shoulders and the hips. In this section we have seven kriyas of Kundalini Yoga given to us by Yogi Bhajan. The Kundalini Yoga Kriya itself is on the left hand page and marked "Kriya". On the right hand page is the "Posture Protocol" in which Guru Prem Singh will give you guidance on how to organize the posture around the position of the heart. The Kriyas stretch over many pages.
In Realization we first look into the achievement of a comfortable sitting posture, because the more comfortable your seat, the more comfortable the meditation will be and the more deeply and joyfully you can experience it. Following that we explore different manifestations of heart energy and offer meditations taught by Yogi Bhajan that develop these aspects of the heart.
Yoga sets and meditations are of greatest value when they are done every day for at least 40 days. These practices create an energy flow and over forty days that energy flow will become habitual and you will gain excellence.
